Notes:
The Blue Box was sold worldwide over a 9 year period. The ones sold in the US and UK from 1978 to 1987 contained versions of the albums cut in the late mid to late 1970s by renowned mastering engineer Harry Moss. Blue boxes contained 12 remastered Beatles studio albums (except Magical Mystery Tour which was originally releases as an EP so was left out of the box). In 1978 when the Blue Box was first issued it contained a 13th album. The Rarities album that was released in the blue box stated "sample copy" on the jacket, and it then was sold in stores in 1979 without this label on the jacket. There is a slight variation in the labels (e.g., rim text at 9 o'clock of 1978 version begins with EMI Records, whereas pressings from the 1980s begin with All Rights Reserved). Some versions were issued with serial numbers. The dates on the inner sleeves also varied over time. All this is to say is that the UK pressings of The Beatles Collection from 1978 will sound (in theory) identical to ones pressed in 1986.

This Blue Box version contains the original UK pressing of Let It Be from 1970.  The Rarities jacket does not state "Sample Copy".

MINT
 (M)

New, assumed mint.

Sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM)

No signs of prior use.

Appears unplayed.

Sharp corners, strong spine. As new.

EXCELLENT (EX+)

Nearly brand new. May have very minor imperfections like faint sleeve scuffs or a mark visible under bright light.

Just short of perfect. Corners, edges, or surfaces may show very light wear like a gently dinged corner

EXCELLENT (EX)

Mild imperfections such as light superficial marks.

Structurally strong, seams intact, readable spine, minor wear to surfaces, edges or corners.

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+)

Records graded VG+ and above will typically not have any scratches or marks that are deep enough to be felt with a fingernail. Occasional surface noise may be present but will not overpower the music.

Still 'frame-able' but may have minor flaws like ring-wear, worn corners, edge and corner creases.

VERY GOOD
 (VG)

There may be a considerable number of light scratches or significant isolated imperfections such as scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail. May play with surface noise and at times may overpower the music. No skips, jumps or locked grooves.  Vinyl still has life left.

Jacket with moderate wear such as stains, seam splits, worn edges or spine, writing, stickers, and heavy creases.

GOOD

On occasion we list rare vinyl that grades lower than VG. These well played records will have specifics detailed in the listing.

Jacket with heavy wear.

FAIR
