This highly scarce record plays well with moderate surface noise. The music and vocals are perfectly listenable, but there is some mild distortion on the louder parts of the recording.
Since this record is over 120 years old, it does have some light scratching and wear, but overall it's in better visible condition than a lot of 78 records I've seen. I guess Berliner made these records to last for centuries.
