For sale is the BUD POWELL TRIO's  "Piano Solos," on Mercury MG-C-502, 10" LP, DG, Mono, 1950. With Ray Brown and Max Roach.
SOUND: VG/VG+ It has been cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. There is routine, light surface noise evident throughout, never too loud nor too much. A couple random ticks on either side. A very pleasing playback!
VINYL: VG/VG+ The vinyl retains a good amount of gloss and appears to be in nice condition. On either side, there appears one faint hairline mark. Neither one looks serious, and these are not feel-able. Otherwise, like I said, very nice condition overall. Mercury labels are deep-grooved, in very nice shape.
JACKET: VG The bottom right-hand edge is split about 3" from the center to the right corner. Otherwise, edges are solid, with wear. The front cover is unmarked, with routine light wear. The back is yellowed, but clean, except for a small sticker user right corner, and some pencil marks upper left corner.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
The record plays very well, everything you would want in a VG-to-VG+ record. Buy-it-now for $100.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material.  Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
