With reference to the Record Collectors Grading System:

EX = EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VG = VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

G = GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

F = FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

P = POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

B = BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is onlyof use as a collection filler.

I have considered the grading very carefully. The playing surface of the record has several obvious scratches- especially side B. I have captured the majority in the photos.

However I have test played the record all the way through both sides on my Clearaudio Concept turntable with an Ortofon Quintet Blue MC cartridge, Arcam Amp and Revel speakers.

The quality of the audio exceeds the aesthetic appearance of the record. By no means perfect as there were some pops and clicks but this is very much a record that can be listened to and enjoyed. There were certainly no skips or jumps.

With this in mind I grade the record VG-.

The cover shows obvious signs of age, general wear and tear. Again I have endeavoured to capture these in the photos. The spine is very worn and has a 3” tear. The cover entry is warped. Overall for a 52 year year old cover it is still fit for purpose. The cover is also graded VG-.

I will conclude this is a very rare and collectible piece of vinyl which due to its scarcity will inevitably increase in value with time. More importantly it remains a playable item and the overall enjoyment of the music remains intact.
