BEATLES UK, Revolver, remix 11, withdrawn 606-1 matrix record, indented/ridged labels, original 1st issue 1966 UK mono LP.

PMC 7009, original first issue 1966 UK mono yellow and black Parlophone record labels.

In August 1966 the first UK mono copies of ‘Revolver’ released came with a record matrix of 2/1. It was realised too late that the wrong record matrix on the track, 'Tomorrow never knows' had been used so attempts were made to try and 'withdraw' these 2/1 matrix records that were already on their way to the shops. Soon after, the album re appeared with the more familiar 2/2 record matrix,

A hard to find copy with very unusual, ' indented/ridged' record labels. In 1966, to try and meet public demand for the new Beatles album, ‘Revolver’, EMI re-employed an old ‘pressing’ machine resulting in these now very hard to find, ‘indented/ridged’ record label records. Only a very small number of these ‘indented/ridged’ record label records were ever manufactured,

So not only a copy of the 'withdrawn' 2/1 record matrix, but a hard to find copy with very unusual 'indented /ridged' record labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. side one of the record label features an unusual ‘circular indentation’,

2. side two of the record label features an unusual ‘pronounced ridge’,

3. earliest 'mother' engraved onto the 'run off' groove on side two of, '1',

4. the record label on side two features the original first issue record label with the, 'Dr Robert' spelling, this spelling was soon to be changed to read, 'Doctor Robert',

5. on the record label on side one there is an additional 'dot' printed into the text of, 'Sold in U.K.' etc, as it reads, 'Sold in .U.K.' etc,

6. comes with its original period 1966 UK EMI, 'Patents applied for' inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The laminate has retained an excellent unspoilt glossy quality finish. The spine is in excellent condition and has remained clean and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp. The rear of the sleeve features the original UK 1960s period, tri ‘flip back’ design, ie, fold over edges. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original period UK 1966 EMI, 'Patents applied for' inner sleeve. A very clean, 'crease' free original inner sleeve. There are NO tears, pen writing, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. There are some very slight signs of 'ageing'.

THE RECORD: each side of the record is in very good++ condition. The record is made from the period 1960s ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. The record has remained dark and glossy.

The records 'matrix' is: XEX 605 - 2 and XEX 606 – 1, the original 'withdrawn', 'remix 11' mix on side two,

The 'mother / stampers' are: ‘7 AO’ and 1 AT’, earliest 'mother' on side two,

THE AUDIO: each side of the record plays very good++, each side plays with some light 'crackle', 'ticks' and the occasional 'pop', heard here and there. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays with a full, loud clear powerful 'mono' sound.

THE RECORD LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in excellent condition. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
