Here's the great JELLY ROLL MORTON with his own composition and solo piano extravaganza, recorded in 1923, "THE PEARLS." A record that certifiably is "A Piece of the Rock."
This is a unique performance of a unique composition. It's impressive how forcefully Morton's pianism registers on this Gennett acoustical recording. He puts across every detail cleanly, in a perfectly wondrous way, cutting through the decades better than any other pianist, IMHO.
ON the flip side, SOL WAGNER AND HIS ORCHESTRA play "DREAM DADDY," which actually is hot, but you'll probably never get past Jelly!
This original 1924 Gennett 5323 is in clean VV+ condition. I played it with a 1.5-mil truncated elliptical stylus, and got great results.
I can't imagine why I've had to list this CLASSIC, ICONIC IMPERISHABLE record ninety-nine times! If it doesn't sell this time, I'll keep it.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
