BEATLES UK, Revolver, rare E J Day stereo sleeve, original UK 1966 LP.

PCS 7009, original UK 1966 stereo black and yellow Parlophone record labels.

A first issue UK 1966 stereo copy in original condition, featuring:

1. a near impossible to find stereo sleeve made by, ‘E J Day’. Nearly all !, of the first issue 1966 Beatles Revolver stereo sleeves were made by the company, ‘Garrod and Lofthouse’. The company, ‘E J Day’ helped out EMI in the 1960s to manufacture sleeves for Beatle albums. By the mid 1960s the company of ‘E J Day’ went through management changes, so less 'E J Day' sleeves were made from this period. The company emerged into 1966 and began once more to manufacture Beatle album sleeves. So while mono Revolver ‘E J Day’ sleeves can be found, it is near impossd a stereo, Revolver, ‘E J Day’ sleeve,

2. each of the record labels feature a very unusual 'textured' surface,

3. the record features the 'earliest' engraved 'mothers' of, '1/1', the 'mother' on side two has been 'crossed out' at the 'EMI' factory and has been replaced with the 'mother' of, '1',

4. the record label on side two features the spelling of, ‘Doctor Robert’, but on the rear of the sleeve, this track is spelt as, ‘Dr Robert’,

5. comes with its original period, plain white EMI, 'Patents applied for' inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition. The front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in excellent+ condition, the spine has remained clean, white and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp. The four corners of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp. The rear of the sleeve features the original 1960s, tri 'flip back’ design, ie fold over edges. A very clean solid example of such a RARE sleeve. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period EMI, ‘Patents applied for’ inner sleeve. An original well preserved crease free inner sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve. There are some slight 'age related' marks to the front of the inner sleeve.

THE AUDIO: side one plays, very good++, I did hear some 'crackle' on track one, the rest of side one plays with some light 'ticks' heard here and there. Side two, also plays very good++ with some light ‘crackle’ heard here and there. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays with a full, powerful, loud period 'stereo' sound.
