Note - It turns out that RCA didn't take good care of all the Elvis master session tapes turned over to them when they bought Elvis's contract from Sun. In some cases they didn't even get a master tape from Sun because it had been recorded over or lost by Sam Phillips. In other cases, RCA lost or modified the ones they had, so to re-issue some of the the Sun singles on LP, they had to resort to the next best thing which were pristine 78 rpm pressings. These were superior to the SUN 45's because of the higher speed.  Even recently, in the quest to re-issue the very best original un-doctored Sun Elvis recordings, RCA has had to resort to some 78's!
In the case of "That's All Right Mama", RCA received the master tape but has since lost it. The closest to the original master RCA has is a tape with RCA added compression and echo. Since it was recorded dry with no echo, the 78 rpm Sun version has the more original sound. It is believed that Sam did not record it with echo because this was only supposed to be a try-out session.

In the case of "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", RCA never even received the master tape and dubbed a 78 single for their later RCA record releases!

The birth of Rock 'N' Roll has not been in good hands.
