Up next for bidding is a classic album reissue with a VERY UNUSUAL ERROR!
This is the 2018 stereo reissue of THE BEACH BOYS' seminal album, "PET SOUNDS", on YELLOW and GREEN vinyl!
This is a 130 gram (130G) release as well, and the error is found in the catalogue number of the release...
The original MONO version of this album was numbered T 2458, and the STEREO version was ST 2458.
The reissue (limited to 2000 COPIES by The Sound Of Vinyl) and is supposed to have that STEREO number on the cover and vinyl both...and it DOES NOT!
That's right! The COVER is numbered with the MONO T 2458 and the ALBUM is ST 2458! (See the photos for fuller detail!)
I did open the album when I originally purchased it in 2018, and found the error - the album has NEVER BEEN PLAYED and is in its ORIGINAL SHRINKWRAP. (The MINT grade is for the vinyl only - since the cover was technically "opened" to inspect the release, that is a NEAR MINT grade.)
When I contacted The Sound Of Vinyl by email (they're in the UK), the response was swift and surprising: "So sorry you got this by mistake. Yes, it IS a misprint. We will send you a replacement copy straight away - thank you for your understanding."
So here it is, folks. Are there any OTHER "misprint" versions of this release out there? Or is THIS the ONLY ONE?!
