George "Harmonica" Smith - Arkansas Trap - DeRam DES 18059 Carey Bell - Last Night - BluesWay BLS6079 (sealed - new) Little Walter - Thunderbird - Syndicate Chapter S.C.004 The Paul Butterfield Blues Band - Keep On Moving On - Electra EKS 74053
Covers - All in very good condition. The Carey Bell has a small puncture in the lower left, indicating that it was a cutout but it is sealed. The other discs show very little wear. There's a slight crease in the upper right of the Little Walter cover. The Smith cover is a bit grungy.
Disc Quality - The 3 used discs show very little wear by my sampling.
Music and disc history. I purchased the Carey Bell disc approx. 40 years ago and never opened it. It was released 1973 The Little Walter and George Smith discs were inherited from my blues harpist brother. The Little Walter disc appears to be a British reissue of Chess recordings. The George Smith was recorded 1970 and actually doesn't sound bad at all. I'm filling out this set with a Paul Butterfield disc from my collection. I'm a big Paul Butterfield fan but this isn't one of his best releases musically. Some catchy tunes but IMO: too many genres and lack of focus.
