This record is vintage and pre-owned, but is in good overall shape. I would rate the record an EX, and the jacket a VG++.
The jacket shows typical signs of age appropriate wear, including some light surface dirt/dust buildup, small surface nicks/scuffs, fading in the graphics/coloring, and some wear on the spine/outer edges. The interior side of the jacket has some brown spotting and light surface wear. There is a 3 inch seam split on the bottom outside edge of the jacket.
The record itself is in strong condition overall, with only a few light hairline scratches and some light wear around the center hole. The record has recently been cleaned, and has also been tested and plays very well. The record is housed in high quality polyethylene exterior and inner sleeves.
This specific copy of "The John Coltrane Quartet Plays" was released by Impulse/ABC Records in 1972 - it is a stereo reissue of the original album put out in 1965. It features 4 tracks, with "Chim Chim Cheree" and "Brazilia" on Side 1, and "Nature Boy" and "Song Of Praise" on Side 2. The full ensemble features John Coltrane on saxophone, McCoy Tyner on piano, Jimmy Garrison/Art Davis on bass, and Elvin Jones on drums.
