Mayhem – Helvete (The Occultus Sessions 1991) Darkthrone, 1Burzum, Black Metal

Perhaps one of the rarest Mayhem bootlegs with a somewhat convoluted backstory of its origin. With rumours about this being the only known recording of Occultus from 1991 after Dead's departure; its all rather fictitious. While yes Occultus was in Mayhem for a brief period; but they never got around to record anything. Possibly due to Euronymous constant threats of violence over him still playing in death metal bands at the time.
From my understanding this recording was made in the early to mid 2000's for a Greek label who were planning to release as part of Mayhem tribute album. With the help of Occultus overdubbing his vocals onto some rough tracks from the "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" sessions but the compliation never happened. So it ended up as standalone release sometime in 2011. My guess it was most likely done deliberately as most unoffical releases. :)
That being said, its one of the better looking bootlegs out there both in presentation and soundwise. A must have for any die-hard fan who appreciates the (true) Mayhem!
