HUMBLE PIE - DEBUT ALBUM
MAGNIFICENT MINT MINUS AUDIO
FIRST PRESS - KHAKI A&M LABEL
OUTSTANDING NEAR MINT SLEEVE
CATALOGUE:A & M AMLS 986 MATRIX: AMLS986 A-1 / B-1 FIRST PRESS INDICATORS 1970 PRESSTHE RECORD
THE LABELS
THE FAWN ORIGINAL PRESS LABELS ARE IN MINT CONDITON. THERE IS NOT ONE BLEMISH ON THEM ANYWHERE. NO LOSS OF COLOUR, AND THE BLACK TYPEFACE IS PERFECTLY LEGIBLE. THE COLOUR FULLY EXTENDS INTO THE UNWORN SPINDLE HOLE, AND I CANNOT EVEN SEE ANY SPIDER LINES AROUND THE SPINDLE HOLE
THE VINYL
THE HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL IS IN SUPERB ORIGINAL CONDITION. THE DISC GLEAMS LIKE NEW AND HAS LOST NONE OF IT'S ORIGINAL LUSTRE
THERE ARE NO MARKS TO BE SEEN IN DAYLIGHT, WHERE IT LOOKS FLAWLESS, AND EVEN UNDER A MAGNIFYING LED HALO I CAN ONLY SEE A COUPLE OF TINY WISPY HAIRLINES
THE TEST PLAY
THIS FIRST PRESS ALBUM PERFORMS MAGNIFICENTLY ALL THE WAY THROUGH BOTH SIDES. THE MOST OBVIOUS THING WHEN HEARING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME IS THE CLARITY AND LOUDNESS OF THE STEREO REPRODUCTION. IT IS JUST SUPERB. EVERY NOTE HEARD AS IT WAS INTENDED
THERE IS NO DISTORTION TO THE SOUND WHATSOEVER MEANING THAT THE COUPLE OF PLAYS THAT THE LP HAS RECEIVED WAS COMPLETED WITH A CORRECTLY WEIGHTED AND UNWORN STYLUS
NO HEAVY CRACKLING OR CLICKS EITHER
NO EMBEDDED VINYL NOISE AND THE LINKING GROOVES ARE SILENT
ALL I HEARD WERE A COUPLE OF THE TINIEST SPECKS OF BARELY AUDIBLE STATIC LIKE BACKGROUND AND NO MORE THAN 2-3 OF THE TINIEST LITTLE DUST TICS
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN TO THE ALBUM AND JUDGE THE QUALITY FOR YOURSELF
I AM HAPPY TO GRADE THIS AS AUDIO AS MINT MINUS
THE SLEEVE
NON LAMINATED , TEXTURED GATEFOLDBY MACNEILL PRESS
THIS SLEEVE IS REALLY HARD TO FIND IN ANY DECENT SORT OF COLLECTIBLE CONDITION DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT IS UNLAMINATED, WHITE, AND TEXTURED, A RECIPE FOR DISASTER FOR CERTAIN
THE FRONT SURFACE IS INCREDIBLE. PURE WHITE ALL THE WAY ACROSS WITH ONLY THE SLIGHTEST SLIVER OF NATURAL AGEING TO THE EDGES. NO CREASES CREASE LINES EITHER.
THERE ARE JUST TWO VERY SMALL PRESSURE LINES ON THE SPINE. NONE ON THE TOP OR BOTTOM EDGES AND NO THUMB LINES NEAR THE OPENING EDGE
THE TOP EDGES ONLY SHOW A LITTLE RUB ON THE REAR RIGHT CORNER , AND THE SAME IS TRUE OF THE BOTTOM EDGES
THE SPINE IS ALSO IN PERFECT CONDITION. AGAIN ITS AMAZING THAT THE SURFACE HAS REMAINED UNRUBBED, AND HERE ALL OF THE TYPEFACE IS PERFECTLY LEGIBLE. THE SPINE IS TOTALLY FLAT AS WELL
THE OPENING EDGE IS RAZOR SHARP WITH JUST A COUPLE OF REALLY TINY THUMB NAIL LINES TO SHOW THAT THE LP WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE SLEEVE A COUPLE OF TIMES.
THE REAR SURFACE IS ANOTHER TEXTURED IMAGE BUT THIS TIME THE BORDER IS BLACK AND I AM DELIGHTED TO SAY THAT THERE IS NOT ONE JOT OF RUBBING TO THIS DELICATE SURFACE. USUALLY THE HIGH POINTS OF THE TEXTURE ARE RUBBED BUT THIS ONE IS STILL TOTALLY BLACK. THERE IS A TINY SPECK OF RUB AT THE CORNERS
OPENING THE GATEFOLD REVEALS TWO PERFECT INNER PANELS
THE ORIGINAL POLY LINED INNER SLEEVE IS PRESENT AND HAS NO SPLITS OR CREASES, JUST NATURAL AGEING
I AM HAPPY TO GRADE THE SLEEVE A STUNNING NEAR MINT
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BID IF YOU CHOSE TO GO FOR IT
