“BOB WILLS AND HIS TEXAS PLAYBOYS FOR THE LAST TIME” (United Artists UA-LA216-J2, 1974). A double LP recorded in 1973 with special guest MERLE HAGGARD who sings lead on three cuts. LEON RAUSCH and LEON McAULIFFE are also featured vocalists. Bob Wills participated in the first recordings, but was incapacitated by a stroke before the project was finished. Vinyl near mint; cover VG++ (repaired split on upper edge of cover). Picture inner sleeves. Includes a large-sized, 16-page illustrated booklet “Homecoming: Reflections on Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys 1915-1973” by Wills biographer Charles R. Townsend.
