Descriptive sticker on back
I have been a dealer in rare 78rpm discs since 1992, and offer only records in TOP Condition - no scratches, stressed grooves, or significant defects. My
grading standards are identical to those of Lawrence F. Holdridge, the late Milt
Weiss, Norbeck Peters & Ford, and other well-known USA dealers.
GRADING
1-2 TOP Condition - no visible wear or significant defects
2 VERY FINE COPY - only a few light non-sounding (NS) rubs or marks, or light-sounding thumps or light swish due to inherent pressing defects.
2-3 FINE COPY - a few more light ns rubs, marks, or blemishes.
3 VERY GOOD COPY - light gray traces (LGT), usually inaudible, and possibly other superficial, ns flaws
3-4 GOOD COPY -
discs in this category have slightly more audible sonic wear from minor
gray traces (MGT) usually on fortissimo passages, and possibly other
sounding defects, such as ticks from small scratches (SS) or needle digs
(ND).
