About the album

The KickInside is the debut album by English singer-songwriter and musician Kate Bush.It was released on 17 February 1978 and contains her UK number one hit,"Wuthering Heights". The album peaked at number three in the UK albumcharts and has been certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry.

 

The KickInside was released when Bush was 19 years old. She had written some of thesongs when she was only 13. The album opens with 20 seconds of whale song,which leads into the first track, "Moving", inspired by her danceteacher Lindsay Kemp.

 

WutheringHeights" went to number one in the UK, marking the first time a femalesinger-songwriter topped the charts with a self-penned song.[4] EMI originallywanted the more rock-oriented track "James and the Cold Gun" to beher debut single, but Bush insisted that it should be "WutheringHeights". Even at this early stage of her career, she had gained areputation for her determination to have a say in decisions affecting herwork.[5]

 

The album'ssecond single, "The Man with the Child in His Eyes", was released andreached number six in the UK charts; three other singles were released over theworld during next two years:

 

Subjective

This press is in excellent condition, it is a beautifullooking record and retains all of its deep mirror-like lustre and shine and hasno apparent groove-wear.

 

Playing

I recently played it again, the tracks Ilistened to played through lovely.  Idon’t think it has any significant hissing, jumps, skips, between track crackleand nasty loud pops.

 

History

It has been in my collection since new andonly played a few times on a quality turntable.

Definitions

 

Near Mint Condition

Verynearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleevescuffs that can only be seen under strong light. Some would class this as mint.This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect- very minimal wear only.

 

Excellent Condition

Aclean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two lightneedle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under stronglight. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with nodistortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ring wearor edge wear.
