Sarkisian 1520

Artist: Reuben Sarkisian and Orchestra
Tracks: Iye Janem  (with vocal) / Tamzara (folk dance)

Reuben Sarkisian was one of the most important Armenian-American musicians of the 20th century. A heck of a fiddle player, too. This disc actually features a piece of paper with notes on the performers, as well as a transcribed or written note by or from Sarkisian himself. I believe this was transcribed by Dick Spottswood, who championed him.

It states:
Kanoon: Pappas (early) or Garbis
Oud - Berberian (all) (John)
Banjo-mand - Bagdasar (Harry)
Dembek - Joe Elby (all but 1519) (family features Jack S)
Piano - Virginia (all)

"I appreciate all who have played with me, helped me make my records for the people's enjoyment. Their talent has helped to make me a success. And thanks to those who give me courage by telephone and telegrams (below 1511 in cat)

"In a short time we will make some records to present"...

Condition: EE+ (great)

I will be selling a lot of amazing discs from around the world in the coming months. Please bookmark me and check back in.
