Description:

Artist: The Beatles

Title: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Label: Parlophone / EMI

Catalog Number: PCS 7027

Country: UK

Issue: 1969 UK "1-Box" pressing

Vinyl Grade: Near Mint, a super example of this all-time classic.  Vinyl shines like new.  There are 2 or 3 spindle marks on the Side One label.  It is hard to be sure whether it is 2 or 3 because it is difficult to determine where one stops and another starts, or continues on the other side of the spindle hole, etc.  They are very faint, and don't even show up in the close-up photos, though I tried to show them.  Side Two has what looks like just three or four spindle marks.  You can see one of the spindle marks, a straight line, on the "long view" photo of Side Two, but it is not really visible in the label photo or the label "angle" photo.  I'm nitpicking at this point, this is a beautiful, rarely played example.  Thick vintage UK vinyl, LP weighs 150g.

Matrices:

Side One:                YEX  637   - 1                        GPG (at 3 o’clock)                  3 (at 9 o’clock)

Side Two:                YEX  638  - 1                         GPO (at 3 o’clock)                  4 (at 9 o’clock)

Inner Sleeve:  VG+ due to a seam split, no other issue.  Original white UK EMI paper inner sleeve, with "Made in Great Britain" at the bottom right and "Patent No. 1,125,555" at the bottom left corner.  The LP has been stored in a modern poly-inner sleeve to protect both the record and the original inner sleeve.

Sgt. Pepper Cut-Out Sheet:  Near Mint sheet, could not be nicer.  Straight corners, vibrant colors, like new.

Cover Grade:  Near Mint cover, a very nice example.  No seam splits, laminate is superb both inside the gatefold and out, vibrant colors, looks practically new.  Flip-backs are all secure, straight corners, full-gloss laminate front, inside and back. and the back is still white without being yellowed from age.  The record itself has been stored in a separate cardboard cover, to protect the original cover from imprinting the LP (to prevent "ring wear").  Great example!

Notes: An extraordinary collector condition example of what many consider the Beatles' greatest, a genuine UK 1969 pressing on the Parlophone/EMI "1-Box" label, with the -1 / -1 matrixes in the run-out grooves.  If you check my other listings, you will see that I am listing all of my Beatles "1-Box" pressings, they are the best condition examples of each album that I have found.  It could be years before you find another example this nice.

Packaging (open LPs): The album will be removed from the cover to eliminate the possibility of seam-splits.  The LP and cover are placed in a clear outer protective sleeve, and sealed.  The (now sealed) album is then sandwiched between two large cardboard stiffener pads, carefully centered and taped together.  This keeps the LP stationary and the album cover centered, allowing the oversized cardboard reinforcement pads to protect the edges and corners of the cover from dings.

The album “sandwich” is then packaged with bubble-wrap and Styrofoam peanuts in an oversize box.  The box is large enough that it should easily withstand even being dropped directly on its corner without damaging the cover inside.  I know very well what it is like to receive poorly packaged records, so I am careful to make sure your album is safely packaged and arrives safely.

Tracking: You should automatically receive your Tracking Number by email when the Shipping Label is printed.
