Thanks for viewing my sale for a pristine copy of this British Hendrix release on the Polydor label.
"Isle of Wight" was a posthumous album, released in November 1971 in the U.K. only. The album documents Hendrix's performance at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival on August 30, 1970, his last performance in England before his unfortunate death in September. The album was engineered by Carlos Ohlms (a British based engineer).
The record cover is a photo taken at a live concert from Berlin, Deutschlandhalle, September 4, 1970 rather than from the Isle of Wight. The album spent 2 weeks in the U.K. albums chart, peaking at No. 17.
Although this was a very popular record at the time of its release, it contains just part of the concert; the entire performance can be found on the 2002 CD release "Blue Wild Angel: Live at the Isle of Wight."
RECORD GRADING: At this time I am only selling NM to VG++ and some NOS.
New Old Stock (NOS): New records that have been preserved in my time vault, generally the covers need description but the unplayed record will be Near Mint or better.
Near Mint (NM): This is the top grade and is in pristine condition with and no marks. A NM cover will show no signs of wear.
Near Mint Minus (NM-): is slightly below the NM grade with only one imperfection but generally flawless.
Very Good Plus Plus (VG++) Record may have sleeve marks from being pulled in and out of a cover. Typically these marks will only be viewable under a bright light bulb. Generally will play through like a NM- with little to no surface noise. Cover may have storage wear, tiny age spots, or creasing, nothing distracting or major.
