Record Grading Grade Explanation SS Still Sealed In factory-fresh condition. M Mint Absolutely perfect in every way.  A grade almost impossible to use.
M- Mint Minus
A nearly perfect record that looks like it was just opened for the first time.  Cover may have drill holes, corner cuts or notches.
VG+ Very Good Plus Close to like new with only superficial signs of use that do not affect play. Only well cared for records will grade VG+. Will satisfy all but the most demanding collector.
VG Very Good A used, reasonable copy. There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice. VG- Very Good Minus Significant wear and marks with usually quite noticeable surface noise. G+ Good Plus Good does not mean bad. It usually means it's pretty beat up .  But if the record plays all the way through without skipping it may be just what you want until you want to replace it with something better.
