The Beach Boys  PET SOUNDS  Original CAPITOL LP release from 1966, T 2458, in glorious MONO just the way Brian made it.

VINYL: VG+ TO EX. Visually this is probably a VG+ due to faint minor scuffs and hairlines but give it just one listen and you will say VG++ (EXCELLENT) very few ticks here and there / occasional light pop or click, but no skips and no bad background noise from wear. Just the music, as Brian Wilson made it in MONO, not the awful rechanneled STEREO version. note: poor labels.
JACKET: VG+. Light shelf wear and corner wear. with name in ink at back, ink number at front, a few tears at back, no seam splits, minor stains, no cut outs, no stickers or stamps. A nice tight cover.

This is a rare very good plus original mono pressing of the legendary album by The Beach Boys, Pet Sounds, released in 1966, and is considered by many to be one of the greatest pop/rock albums of all time. Rolling Stone Magazine voted the LP 2d greatest of the best 500 albums. The mono pressing is the much more desirable copy as there were never stereo master tapes made of this LP, only mono. All copies designated stereo are rechanneled fake stereo.

The LP visually is on the higher end of very good plus with just a few barely visible scuff/lines. The LP plays very nicely with a very few ticks here and there but overall plays very nicely and is still a nice collectible excellent play copy. There is damage evident to both labels due to water damage.  The cover is in very good condition. The spine corners are very sharp and the mouth corners are reasonably sharp with a trace of wear evident on the tips of both mouth corners. The back and front covers are pretty clean with a bit ring wear/yellowing and some soiling near the top of cover near mouth. There is number 17 written at the top corner of front cover near spine. There is some damage at the top back of cover and writing near the spine. The spine and both seams are solid with no splits, although there is slight flaking in the middle of spine.

Vinyl grading is usually based on the Goldmine standard and is as follows:

“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.

“M” Mint - a near perfect, or unplayed record.

“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.

EX+ - close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.

EX - a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.

VG+ - There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility a few skuffs and/or light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.

VG - significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise, still plays great.

Good - In the record world, "Good" is not good! From here on down, we're talking about beat-up records!
