Time takes a cigarette, puts it in your mouth,
You pull on your finger, then another finger, then your cigarette.
The wall-to-wall is calling, it lingers, then you forget,
Oh, you're a rock 'n' roll suicide.

You're too old to lose it, too young to choose it.

And the clock waits so patiently on your song,
You walk past a cafe, but you don't eat when you've lived too long,
Oh, no, no, no, you're a rock 'n' roll sucide.

Chev brakes are snarling, as you stumble across the road.

But the day breaks instead, so you hurry home,
Don't let the sun blast your shadow,
Don't let the milk float ride your mind,
You're so natural.... religiously unkind.

Oh, no love! you're not alone,
You're watching yourself, but you're too unfair,
You got your head all tangled up, but if I could only make you care.
Oh, no love! you're not alone,
No matter what, or who you've been,
No matter when, or where you've seen,
All the knives seem to lacerate your brain,
I've had my share, I'll help you with the pain,
You're not alone.

Just turn on with me, and you're not alone,
Let's turn on with me, and you're not alone,
Let's turn on and be not alone,
Gimme your hands, 'cause you're wonderful,
Gimme your hands,'cause you're wonderful,
Oh, gimme your hands....
DAVID BOWIE: "Rock 'N' Roll Suicide"/"Quicksand" 45, VERY  FIRST UK PRESSING, 11th APRIL,1974.
THIS HAS A SOLID CENTRE, PUSH-OUT CENTRES WERE ALSO AVAILBLE AND NEITHER FORMAT IS RARE, ONLY THE
STUNNING CONDITION OF THIS RECORD IS RARE!

ORANGE MATT, TEXTURED RCA LABEL: LPBO 5021
Pressed by Pye normally but I am certain this was pressed by  CBS, possibly mastered by CBS and then pressed by Pye because the
letters & digits are exclusive in size and shape to CBS.  Both pressing plants produced labels with thick, roughly finished paper
around the  push-out centre hole, showing the usual white edges does not give further clues.  The actual stamping of the maitrix
does, in this period CBS the maitrix regularly had a 'streaky' effect , readable but not completely clear.  It was due to the CBS
pressing and not from wear or use, a rare unplayed, genuine very first pressing. The push-out centre has three distinctive ridged
or embossed concentric rings around the spindle hole on the B-side, turn over, the A-side and the label design completely differs.
One small ridged circle directly touching and surrounding the spindle hole, then a large distance away a thick ridged ring looks
like an Iron Age hill-fort earthwork enclosure. The labels are softly textured and easily marked by metal spindles and handling,
there are no spindle marks or handling traces on either side, just returning to the different label design on each side, a record
like this is as individualistic and unconventional as the songwriter and performer.

Underneath the "Rock 'N' Roll Suicide" A-Side title;
"From The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars album"

  Underneath the "Quicksand" B-Side title;
"From the Hunky Dory album"

MAITRIX:  LPBO - 5021 - A - 1E /  LPBO - 5021 - B - 1E
One thing never changed about Pye's maitrix format though, the end digit rises began from '1E / 1E' and the presence of the
'A' & 'B' Side letters are further CBS traits. One thing for certain, the above signifies the very first pressing made regardless
of which contractual pressing plant made them.

ORIGINAL 1974 RCA SLEEVE WITH A WAVY TOP, THIS WAS HOLDING A PYE/CBS MASSIVELY THICK AND HEAVY
RECORD.  SO A RECORD IMPRESSION AND FAINT CREASES  BUT NO FORM OF AGEING EVEN  AFTER 42 YEARS.
UNUSED, UNSPLIT AND UNTORN, THE SLEEVE IS IN MINT- CONDITION.

THE IMMACULATE RECORD IS IN UNPLAYED, MINT CONDITION.

Both tracks are from two albums that originated in very different David Bowie era's during the early 1970's, the only connection
I can think of is sinking down.  For obvious reasons "Quicksand" fits the theme, with "Rock 'N' Roll Suicide" finishing the epic
story of Ziggy Stardust and representing the 'Fall' of Ziggy, who was crumbling under the pressure of his success and rock and
roll stardom, by the time you reached Side 2's second from last track,"Suffragette City." Then he hits 'rock bottom' on the last
track and "Rock 'N' Roll Suicide" leaves Ziggy not only sinking in quicksand, it was all over and that inspired line that summed
up his complete demise;
You're too old to lose it, too young to choose it....
as anything Bowie ever recorded, just like Lennon's "A Day In The Life", the simple intro of an acoustic guitar saw the track grow
and grown into a vast orchestral finale production.  How could any artist follow up an album that killed off the main character?
"The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars" could have been impossible to follow,"Rock 'N' Roll Suicide" was
aptly titled but... Aladdin Sane was ready and waiting!  What a single and what an album!

  R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

EVERY RECORD IS FULLY PLAYED AND COMES WITH A 'NO ARGUMENT' MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
I USE GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE AS WELL AS A GLOBALLY ACCEPTED GRADING TERMINOLOGY
FROM THE U.K. "RECORD COLLECTOR PRICE GUIDE" BOOK.
THERE IT CLEARLY STATES "Sound Quality" AFFECTS EVERY GRADING LEVEL AND THAT IS THE ONE
AND ONLY POSSIBLE WAY TO ACCURATELY GRADE RECORDS. i.e. COMBINING A STRICT VISUAL
INSPECTION WITH VERY CLOSELY LISTENING TO EVERY SECOND, UNLESS PERHAPS IN THE CASE
OF GENUINELY UNPLAYED VINYL.  EVEN THEN WE STILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A RECORD
WHEN A CUSTOMER RECEIVES EITHER A SEALED OR AN UNPLAYED RECORD.

We take 100% responsibility after an item has been posted and offer our fullest support in the event of any problems.
"There Are No Problems, Only Solutions" (John Lennon)
MY DESCRIPTIONS WILL ALWAYS BE 100% HONEST AND TOTALLY ACCURATE ON ALL GRADINGS
FROM 'V.G.' ( VERY GOOD), TO THE ULTIMATE 'MINT' CONDITION.

ONLY PROFESSIONALLY PACKED BOXES WITH SUBSTANTIAL PROTECTIVE PACKAGING THAT DOES
WEIGH A LITTLE EXTRA.

UNDER PAYPAL & EBAY'S GUIDELINES, ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA A FULLY INSURED TRACKABLE
SERVICE.

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA 'INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR.'
