Fantastic looking sleeve with informative sleeve notes from the legendary John Rhys
Shades Of Blue
Treats Me Right / New Spark Of Life
First ever worldwide release, 2016 issue of 2 amazing 1966 recordings come at Golden World studio shortly after it was sold to Motown.
Produced by John Rhys but not released at the time because, as the sleeve notes explain, the group had a row during the recording session and split up. These are their last recordings for Impact.
John has kept the tapes and decided they should finally be released.
Treats Me Right is right in the pocket for today's Northern scene and is a mighty dancer. The song is written by two thirds of the team who penned "Time Will Pass You By" recorded by Tobi Legend.
New Spark Of Life is quintessential mid 60's Detroit Soul and is so good you can imagine JJ Barnes recording the song for Ric-Tic.
And final cherry on the pie, it is a previously unknown song written by none other than Edwin Starr.
An absolutely wonderful discovery and release.
