Nat Adderley Quintet Branching Out Riverside 285 mono blue label deep groove
Johnny Griffin (ts), Nat Adderley (ct), Gene Harris (p), Andy Simpkins (b), Bill Dowdy (d) Recorded 1958
Blue label with silver print, deep groove both sides. "AB" and "16 I" in the runouts. "553 West 51st Street New York 19, N.Y." address on back cover.
Record looks and plays M-. A superb copy that plays beautifully. There's a very small 1/8 inch light scratch with the grooves near end of Side 2 Track 2 which causes app 4 very light ticks well below the level of the music. Grooves are bright and glossy and record looks little played.
Cover is VG+.
Front cover looks very good. It's bright and shiny with light wear. There's some tiny pieces of the slick missing at the pocket and the bottom seam. Back cover has moderate wear with a stain at the top. Top seam is not split but with some small pieces of the slick missing and denting. Bottom seam is not split but with four small spots of heavy wear and missing slick. Spine is intact, bright and readable. Small spots of heavy wear at the corners.
I WILL BE RUNNING WEEKLY AUCTIONS OF 50s and 60s JAZZ LPS INC. BLUE NOTE 1500s PRESTIGE NYCs TRANSITIONS ETC. MANY WEEKS AND SOME HIGH END ITEMS TO COME.
My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied. No hassles.
