First pressing of debut album "Future Legends" by FRUUPP
1972 Dawn Records Gatefold DNLS 3053
Matrix Side One: DNLS 3053 A-2∇G Matrix Side Two: DNLS 3053 B1
A really superb example of this highly collectible prog rock record from Northern Ireland group FRUUPP. the album cover is in almost perfect condition without any writing, tears, creases, seam splits, edge-wear or ring-wear. The beautiful cover artwork hasn't lost its impact and the colours are still bright and strong. The inside of the gatefold is in equally good shape. The spine is fully intact and all of the printed text is clearly legible. The sleeve is comfortably graded as Near Mint.
The vinyl itself looks almost unplayed and retains its sheen and lustre without any major scratches, scuffs or marks. The only minor damage to the record is a tiny 2mm nick to its edge (see photo). This is located at the extreme outer edge of the run-in groove on side one and does not affect the audio in any way. I have listened to the record in its entirety and the sound remains rich and full of depth. It is amazing how an album of this age can sound as fresh as the day it came out of the pressing plant! Because some of the songs start off very quietly (with Peter Farrelly whispering his vocals at times) background noise would be an issue. I am happy to say that surface noise is almost non-existent on this copy. It doesn't appear to have been played too many times and there are very few if any spindle marks on the labels. There is an almost un-noticeable slight discolouration on the side one label where a tiny sticker was removed. Due to the exemplary sound quality of the record I would also grade it as Near Mint.
