"TEENAGE WILDLIFE"

Well, how come you only want tomorrow,
With it's promise of something hard to do?
A real life adventure, worth more than pieces of gold,
Blue skies above and sun on your arms, strength your stride,
And hope in those squeaky clean eyes.
You'll get chilly receptions everywhere you go,
Blinded with desire, I guess the season is on.

So you train by shadow boxing, search for the truth,
But it's all, but it's all used up.
Break open your million dollar weapon,
And push your luck, still you push, still you push your luck
A broken nosed mogul, are you one of the new wave boys?

Same old thing in brand new drag, comes sweeping into view,
As ugly as a teenage millionaire, pretending it's a whiz kid world.
You'll take me aside, and say;
"Well, David, what shall I do? They wait for me in the hallway."
I'll say; "Don't ask me, I don't know any hallways."
But they move in numbers and they've got me in a corner,
I feel like a group of one, no, no, they can't do this to me,
I'm not some piece of teenage wildlife.

Those midwives to history put on their bloody robes,
The word is that the hunted one is out there on his own,
And you're alone, for maybe the last time,
And you breathe for a long time,
Then you howl like a wolf in a trap,
And you dare not look behind.

You fall to the ground like a leaf from the tree,
And look up one time at that vast blue sky,
Scream out aloud, as they shoot you down.
No, no, I'm not a piece of teenage wildlife,
I'm not a piece of teenage wildlife.

And no one will have seen, and no one will confess,
The fingerprints will prove that you couldn't pass the test.
There'll be others on the line filing past, who'll whisper low,
I miss you, he really had to go, well each to his own, he was....
Another piece of teenage wildlife,
Another piece of teenage wildlife, another piece of teenage wild.....

Wild,
Wild,
Wild.
DAVID BOWIE:  "Scary Monsters)" LP. UK VERY FIRST PRESSING, 12th SEPTEMBER, 1980.
Another absolutely stunning very first pressing from a collection of unplayed and perfectly stored albums, the matt first edition
was extremely rare to stains and excessive wear.  A cream colour background without a protective sheen after 37 years, and being
such a really heavily played  normally, has made a genuine first pressing "Scary Monsters" a major rarity without looking and
sounding awful. Not here, the cover is literally like brand new cover, the UK first editions were actually printed with the 1980
year of publication, the re-issues had that copied but they are easily identified by the shiny top surface. On the ageing problem
of the matt first issues, the later 1980's re-issues still yellowed under the shiny surface, ageing also affected the  first issue
"Scary Monsters" double sided lyrics and credits insert.  Once again, perfect storage and never being handled has preserved the
essential insert, the cover was placed inside a plastic outer sleeve on purchase 37 years ago, an all round ultimate condition UK
very first pressing of "Scary Monsters."   The cover and labels name the album "Scary Monsters", only the title track has the
extra "And Super Creeps" in brackets, so I always refer to the album title as "Scary Monsters."  An astonishing very first pressing and
there is no form of ageing to any of the printed items and the record is in unplayed condition.

TEXTURED BLACK RCA LABEL: BOW LP 2  (PL 13647)
The final orange label RCA David Bowie album was the previous 1979 "Lodger," this very first pressing has the new design black
labels, nothing else changed though.  The same UK rim text, which I will deal with next, the same thickly textured paper, exactly
the same label design as the orange labels, a raised outer perimeter and a concentric ring around the spindle hole.  Even the
cryptic messages etched in the run-out grooves follow the "Lodger" format,  that starts on Side 1, then ...... it ends on Side 2.
A timely reminder to always check the text on the labels for verification of UK pressings for Bowie's albums, like the orange
RCA labels, these look identical to a multitude of other countries, for example, as far apart as Greece and Canada.  Also be aware
the genuine UK 1980 first issues were unchanged from the 1970's RCA labels, the just mentioned text on the  bottom rims, still in
white lettering, not black.  That section contains the country of origin, like all authentic UK pressings, these labels have a new
ending of "RCA Corp."  The double gaps around the altered ending text always demonstrates the first time re-designed labels are
being used, once again acting to identify the first pressings of "Scary Monsters."

"Manufactured By RCA Limited, England From Master Recordings Of RCA Corp."

PRESSED BY CBS ~ (1) MAITRIX (2) SCRIBED MESSAGES (3) MASTERING LOGO (4 & 5) INITIAL VINYL INDEXING
SIDE 1:
(1) BOW LP  2 -  A - 3

(2) "I Can't Think.…." (.....Of Anything" completes it on Side 2)

(3) "Townhouse"   (hand scribed)

(4) B1  AC

SIDE 2:
(1)  LP  BOW  2 . B - 3
Note how Side 2 had 'LP' after 'BOW' omitted and had to be added in front of  'BOW  2 - B - 3,' you can see the large gap that
created in my picture of all the full and complex indexing of the very first pressings.

(2) ".....Of Anything"  ("I Can't Think.….." began on Side 1)

(3) "Townhouse" (machine stamped, the only item that was.)

(4)  A 2 N

(5) 'W' I am very familiar with the UK "Scary Monsters"pressings, we were selling the album in the same decade it was released in,
there had to be variations for a massive selling No.1 UK album.  I can only handle one quartet of run-out grooves details and I
am not about to make this any more complex or time consuming than necessary.  I prefer to discuss the music on a record and
I sacrifice my real love of records to include such comprehensive pressing and printing details, when I list variations of the
same titles, I can then itemise variations. Unless the variations involve later re-issues, I couldn't possible type any more than
I manage as it is.   I was delighted to locate this ultimate condition very first pressing of "Scary Monsters," with all the items
involved here,100% authentic first edition, most are transferable to all the originals, first pressings, first editions and any
other way to describe the mountain of records and printed items attached to all No.1 albums.

If anyone thinks to this easy, it most certainly is not, just finding the album was hard enough, with the first RCA black label
to include, quite a daunting task when I started this, or should I say 'scary' instead of 'daunting!' For anyone new to records,
first pressings contain the same details scribed or machine stamped on Test Pressings, in this case, a wealth of info that act
to clearly identify the very first made records. To fit all nine of the mastering into the 12 pictures available, I compiled the
maitrix pair and the two messages per side, into one picture.  The sun was shining in between the dark clouds appearing
so the black and white format compensated for the light keeping changing. Hand scribed details are harder to get positive
images of, the pictures are really clear and easy to read and identify this record is positively a very first UK pressing.
The man was beyond naming 'phenomenal', David Bowie's albums were in a constant cycle of being re-issued, RCA's 'International'
green budget label contained all the 1970's titles, the 1980 black labels added to the confusion.

THE 11" x 11" LYRICS & PICTURES INSERT ALSO CONTAINS PRECISE DETAILS OF WHICH MUSICIAN PLAYED
ON THE INDIVIDUAL TRACKS.  IN THEORY, THIS MATT PAPER SHOULD HAVE AN AGED BACKGROUND BUT THIS IS
STILL LIKE BRAND NEW, IN 'NEVER LEFT THE THE COVER IN 37 YEARS', MINT CONDITION.

ORIGINAL 1980 RCA INNER SLEEVE, UNPRINTED BUT THE SAME SHAPE AND DESIGN OF THAT WERE.  A SQUARE TOP
OPENING SLEEVE WITH A DIE-CUT CENTRE AND PLAIN WHITE.  JUST A  RECORD IMPRESSION WITH A FEW RELATED
LIGHT CREASES, BUT  NO AGEING AT ALL, IN NEAR MINT CONDITION.

THE FIRST ISSUE COVER'S  PRINTER WAS NOT CREDITED BUT I CAN STILL BE CONCLUSIVE ENOUGH ABOUT BEING
THE FIRST EDITION ONLY, THE BACK COVER INADVERTENTLY CONTAINS ALL THAT IS NEEDED.   THE PRICE CODES
RCA USED WERE SIMILAR TO TODAY'S BAR CODES,  PRINTED ON THE BACK TOP RIGHT CORNER, "(Price code): ZZ"
WHITE LETTERING OF ALL THE TITLES:  "ZZ"

To confirm this is the 1980 UK cover, "Sleeve © 1980 RCA Records" is  followed by RCA's London address on the bottom rim of the
back.  I always take pictures to illustrate features like that, but I ran out of space but I always give them in text as well.
All to tell is the merest standing in storage traits, a really light record impression and the slightest standing pressure on the bottom
right corner, no wear, ageing, rubbing and positively no ring wear, please see my picture for the beautiful condition.
THE FIRST ISSUE COVER IS IN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING,MINT- CONDITION.

THE IMMACULATE TEXTURED LABELS DO NOT HAVE SINGLE SPINDLE ALIGNMENT TRACES, THE VINYL IS ALSO LIKE
BRAND NEW, THE RECORDS IS IN UNPLAYED, MINT CONDITION.

All Songs Written By David Bowie Except, "Kingdom Come" (Tom Verlaine)
Recorded February,1980 & April,1980 At The Power Station, New York City & Good Earth Studios, London.
Produced By David Bowie & Tony Visconti.
I will not being playing this record, I have never seen another authentic unplayed first pressing since the mid-1980's and it was
rare then!  No CD's around yet and no bar codes either, just listing the tracks is a full description, how great can an album be?
The sheer intensity of "Teenage Wildlife" has to be heard to be believed, David's lyrics hits home like arrows, they sound like
they were autobiographical in nature and then you have Pete Townshend playing guitar on the superb "Because You're Young" to
continue the theme of growing up....only to end up as "Ashes To Ashes."  I really feel I cannot make any comments that would
not become a string of superlatives, for the massive input of Robert Fripp, the epic "Heroes" was revisited but with a whole new
perspective and Bowie's touring trio were just as tuned into a post punk LP in the first year of the new decade.  You can spend
ages following the cover's references to the previous late 1970's tracks, a fantastic album and as I said before, just locating
this ultimate condition, first UK pressing was my job completed.  After all the time spent on taking pictures and detailing the
pressing and printing details, my next job is to once again fill in ebay's item listing form with an album I am proud to offer.

R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

EVERY RECORD IS FULLY PLAYED AND COMES WITH A 'NO ARGUMENT' MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
I USE GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE AS WELL AS A GLOBALLY ACCEPTED GRADING TERMINOLOGY
FROM THE U.K. "RECORD COLLECTOR PRICE GUIDE" BOOK.
THERE IT CLEARLY STATES "Sound Quality" AFFECTS EVERY GRADING LEVEL AND THAT IS THE ONE
AND ONLY POSSIBLE WAY TO ACCURATELY GRADE RECORDS. i.e. COMBINING A STRICT VISUAL
INSPECTION WITH VERY CLOSELY LISTENING TO EVERY SECOND, UNLESS PERHAPS IN THE CASE
OF GENUINELY UNPLAYED VINYL.  EVEN THEN WE STILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A RECORD
WHEN A CUSTOMER RECEIVES EITHER A SEALED OR AN UNPLAYED RECORD.

We take 100% responsibility after an item has been posted and offer our fullest support in the event of any problems.
"There Are No Problems, Only Solutions" (John Lennon)
MY DESCRIPTIONS WILL ALWAYS BE 100% HONEST AND TOTALLY ACCURATE ON ALL GRADINGS
FROM 'V.G.' ( VERY GOOD), TO THE ULTIMATE 'MINT' CONDITION.

WEIGH A LITTLE EXTRA.

UNDER PAYPAL & EBAY'S GUIDELINES, ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA A FULLY INSURED TRACKABLE
SERVICE.

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA 'INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR.'
