Although given an issue number in the early 60s,  there is no evidence that this record was ever issued until this issue in 1975. Some minor problems with the miking, might have caused it to be held back.  The online Jazz Discography lists no earlier issue.  Savoy became part of Arista in 1975, making this one of their last issues and it was undoubtedly pressed in a small quantity.

 

 Curtis Fuller (tb), Lee Morgan (t), Yusef Lateef (ts), McCoy Tyner (p), Milt Hinton (b), Roy Haynes (d)  possibly Wilbur Harden (t), Jimmy Garrison (b) and Bobby Donaldson (d) are replacements on one or both tunes on Side 2.   Recorded 1960

Maroon label both sides. "56 Ferry Street, Newark, N.J. 07105" address on back cover.

The record looks and plays M-.  Plays beautifully and quietly.  No scratches and no scuffs.  Grooves are bright and glossy and do not look worn or gray. 

 The cover is VG+.  

    The front cover is shiny with light wear and some ring wear.  The back cover is the same. Top seam is split app 1 inch at the pocket and is taped.  The bottom seam has the beginning of split app 1/2 inch at the pocket and untaped.  Spots of heavy wear and denting at the corners.

 My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas.  I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied.  No hassles.
