"MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING"  (Jimi Hendrix, Isle Of Wight Festival,1970)

Midnight lightning,
Flashing all around me.
Lord, see it flashing all around the trees,
See it flashing on my love and me.
Wake up my sweet darling,
And see the light upon your eyes.
Blue light flashing,
Shadows leaping, church bells ring,
Made against the night.
Hey, my love, please stand up and watch me,
Midnight lightning flashing,
Flashing all around my country house,
Thunder flashing,
See where the fields lie,
On our tree, in our little dream.
JIMI HENDRIX: ‎"Jimi Hendrix At The Isle Of Wight" LP,  FIRST UK PRESSING, 13th NOVEMBER, 1971.
ULTRA RARE SHRINK WRAPPED COVER STILL COMPLETELY ENCASING THE WHOLE COVER, APART FROM
THE EXTREME TIP OF THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER, BUT EVEN THAT IS PERFECT.
A perfectly preserved cover, a small parting of the top seam relieved the pressure shrink wrapping can potentially cause over
such a long time. The cover is 100% flat and the spine and the corners are like new, so few UK covers were shrink wrapped in
the 20th century, this is among the earliest I have found.  An unplayed record also prevented the constant handling that would
have torn, peeled and then the shrink wrapping would have long ago been discarded.  Just to confirm this is indeed a UK cover,
the back has this printing credit:
Sleeve Made And Printed In England by James Upton Ltd.
That brings me to another related item about the actual title of the album, the front cover, the spine and the back cover, have,
"Jimi Hendrix Isle Of Wight" but the the labels have, "Jimi Hendrix At The Isle Of Wight," which would be more appropriate.
The back cover move towards that with, "Recorded at the Isle Of Wight Festival, 1970" the same is also printed on the labels,
but  the word 'live' is not found on the labels or the cover.  The whole concert was recorded and that released in 2002 titled
"Blue Wild Angel: Live at the Isle of Wight," but the mix on the 1971 UK version, remain unique.  The analogue original mix
was by far superior... but of all the Jimi Hendrix albums I have sold on ebay, I have never sold this 1971 album due to the state
of the covers and the records.  A fantastic album and recorded 30th August, 1970, very close to Jimi's fateful death that robbed
the world of a musical genius we will never see the like of again.  The original 1971 album includes a precious live version of
"Midnight Lightning", the studio version was not released until 1975, with that track becoming the album's title and it inspired
incredible cover artwork.  I can't help getting into the many associated surrounding anything connected to Jimi Hendrix, that
began in December, 1966, as I will not play this major rarity, perhaps I should just concentrate on the subject in hand. With the
whole set filmed and available on a DVD, is the entire weekend is, this will be all the text I will write outside of the basic,
details. I am still genuinely blown away to see ‎"Jimi Hendrix At The Isle Of Wight," literally looking exactly how it was first
appeared in a UK record shop...... in November, 1971.  The Isle of Wight Festival is well known and Jimi's set was nothing less
than staggering visually and a performance of biting intensity.

R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

EVERY RECORD IS FULLY PLAYED AND COMES WITH A 'NO ARGUMENT' MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
I USE GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE AS WELL AS A GLOBALLY ACCEPTED GRADING TERMINOLOGY
FROM THE U.K. "RECORD COLLECTOR PRICE GUIDE" BOOK.
THERE IT CLEARLY STATES "Sound Quality" AFFECTS EVERY GRADING LEVEL AND THAT IS THE ONE
AND ONLY POSSIBLE WAY TO ACCURATELY GRADE RECORDS. i.e. COMBINING A STRICT VISUAL
INSPECTION WITH VERY CLOSELY LISTENING TO EVERY SECOND, UNLESS PERHAPS IN THE CASE
OF GENUINELY UNPLAYED VINYL.  EVEN THEN WE STILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A RECORD
WHEN A CUSTOMER RECEIVES EITHER A SEALED OR AN UNPLAYED RECORD.

We take 100% responsibility after an item has been posted and offer our fullest support in the event of any problems.
"There Are No Problems, Only Solutions" (John Lennon)
MY DESCRIPTIONS WILL ALWAYS BE 100% HONEST AND TOTALLY ACCURATE ON ALL GRADINGS
FROM 'V.G.' ( VERY GOOD), TO THE ULTIMATE 'MINT' CONDITION.

ANY QUESTIONS ON OUR ITEMS ARE WELCOMED AND WILL BE PROMPTLY REPLIED TO.

QUALITY PACKAGING MATERIALS, THE COST OF THE ITEM IS IMMATERIAL, EVERY RECORD IS
TREATED EXACTLY THE SAME.

ONLY PROFESSIONALLY PACKED BOXES WITH SUBSTANTIAL PROTECTIVE PACKAGING THAT DOES
WEIGH A LITTLE EXTRA.

UNDER PAYPAL & EBAY'S GUIDELINES, ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA A FULLY INSURED TRACKABLE
SERVICE.

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA 'INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR.'
