Grading:

Please keep in mind that I am not a record dealer or serious collector. I am also not a professional yardsaler operating on ebay. the things I sell are mine and my husbands as we slowly weed through our belongings in an effort to declutter and downsize. I do not have a cleaner and these records may sport fingerprints, ultra small lint particles, or an occasional cat hair. I try to avoid that, but records do have static electricity that attracts lint to it. These come from a non smoking home.

My description of the condition is that of an amateur and not an official "grading." I describe exactly what I see, including a truthful disclosure of any damage that I see. I do not use a magnifying glass or special lighting so it is possible that I may miss a scratch if it is light enough to not catch the light. I do my best to provide you with an accurate description. I want you to be happy with your purchase, so I give as full and accurate description as possible. Please use the photos provided to assist you in determining the exact condition.(I'm sorry, I am not a professional photographer and I am not able to take photographs of the actual records without light reflections.)

Please ask any questions prior to bidding. I am happy to answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. Below is the grade definitions that I used as guidelines in my description. It is not an official grading, because again, I am not a dealer or collector. The guidelines are to help in describing the record only and provide me with guidelines on approximately where the records rate. Any damage that I see will be shown in the photographs with closeups if possible and photo allowances permit. I always err on the side of caution and if I'm not certain which grading would apply I will go with the lower rating. I grade the cover, sleeve, inserts, and record individually because I want you to know exactly what you are getting for every piece.

How it is shipped: Described below is how I ship every record and I can combine up to three into one package to save you money on shipping, so if you buy multiple albums they will each be treated like this and placed in the same outer box.

Each record is removed from the cover and the sleeve and placed inside its own new 12x12" poly bag so nothing touches it or has the chance to scratch it during shipment and so the record does not tear through the sleeve or cover. It is placed inside that bag immediately after I take photos of it. It does not have any chance of getting damaged from the time I photograph it to the time I ship it. I then take another box that I recycle/reuse and fold it on the ends in the shape of a very wide 'H' which works similar to shocks. It keeps the record(s) suspended in the center of the box to minimize the likelihood of any damage. The record safely encased inside it's poly bag and the poly bag is taped to that recycled box so it doesn't move or shift around during shipment (no tape or paper touches the record, sleeve or cover during shipment). I then put the sleeve and any inserts, if present, inside the cover. The cover and its cargo are then shrink wrapped on top of the 'H' recycled cardboard box with the record inside a fold and the cover on the outside and they are then are shrink wrapped together to the recycled box. The "sides of the "H" are then folded down so that all the goodies are suspended in the center of the outer box not touching the top or the bottom of the outer box. The outer box is a new 14"x14"x2" corrugated cardboard pizza box that I assemble inside out. NO pizza has ever touched the box. These boxes cost me approximately $1 a piece which is less than the exact same boxes that say nothing. This helps keep shipping costs down.
Lastly, please remove packaging with care! Thank you for understanding!

Mint (M)

Absolutely perfect in every way. Never played. Still sealed. I probably don't have any of these.

Near Mint (NM or M-)

A nearly perfect record that shows no obvious signs of wear. Sleeve/cover has only the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling. An LP cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes or other noticeable similar defects. And of course, the same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves and the like.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and have slight scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount. In general, if not for a couple things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint.

Very Good (VG)

Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song?s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)

Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear (on a styrene record, the groove will be starting to turn white). A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.

Poor (P), Fair (F)

The record is cracked, badly warped, and will not play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon.
