to see our other auctions this week, featuring dozens of LP lots and well over 1000 records! These albums come from two similar collections heavy on jazz and classical - one from a former FBI agent and the other from a former engineer at the RCA pressing plant in Camden, NJ. Both collections were extremely well cared for and the majority of the records are in NM or VG++ condition!
Up for auction is an amazing lot of 16 LPs from Al Hirt and Pete Fountain.
The records are mostly NM, with a couple in the VG++ or possibly VG+ range. A beautiful lot!
The covers range from VG to VG+, but most are VG+.
There may be the occasional LP without an inner sleeve but the vast majority do have one.
A quick note about these collections - both former owners believed in preserving the integrity of the vinyl by replacing the generic inner paper sleeves with plastic or plastic-lined ones, so many of these albums listed will have it's inner sleeve replaced with one of these. Also, both collector's cataloged their collections with stickers - one put a sticker on the top left that wrapped around the spine about 1", and the other put a small square sticker on the rear of the cover. Many, but not all have these stickers. Also, many of the covers with the wrap-around sticker have the previous owner's name written neatly in small letters on the rear side.
Shipping is $9.00 for US residents (media mail), and $70.00 everywhere else in the world.
Records will be securely shipped in an 13x13 box with 2 layers of bubble wrap.
to see our Goldmine-based grading system (it's strict Goldmine standards with VG++ added). There is no such thing as a "mint" record. NM (near mint) is our highest grade.
