Grading Principles and Scale:  LPs are visually graded, under discerning scrutiny and notes will be made of the LP disc’s condition. We are honest in our analysis because this is what we expect from others and do our best to describe each disc. We do ask forgiveness in the hopefully rare occurrence of any errors. Many of our classical LPs are from the mid-century, back when analogue tapes and valves inherently displayed distortion at the extreme frequencies.

NM: Near Mint, our highest grade for a used LP. These appear well cared for with clean surfaces, intact with luster and contain no scratches expected to sound or cause interruptions. We will note any press-bubbles created from the factory on any NM original LPs as this would indeed cause a very slight thud upon a few rotations.

EXC: Excellent, one level below NM. Expect LPs in this category to appear to have been played more often than their NM counterparts but still handled with care and will have clean surfaces. Surfaces will have wisps but nothing deep enough to be felt. Expect some faults to produce sounds.

VG: Very Good will not be sold very often. These discs will have surfaces which will contribute crackling/tic/thud being heard through the speaker.

G: Good condition LPs will not be sold.
