ALICE COOPER "School's Out" (1972) 1st UK Press - Warner Bros. Records - K56007

This is a great copy of an original UK pressing of one of Alice Cooper's most famous albums. The die-cut sleeve folds out into the shape of a wooden school desk with a lift-up lid. Overall the sleeve shows moderate signs of wear which is to be expected for a cover of this age and unique design. The two fold-out supports at the back of the record are both intact and undamaged. The front cover still features the original Warner Bros catalogue number sticker which is very rare. The inner part of the desk lid is not laminated and quite fragile; some of the paper has peeled off as you may be able to see in photos 6 and 7. It isn't really that noticeable because of the weathered design effect of the cover. I would grade the sleeve as VG-.
The green WB labels are clean and bright without any writing or tears. There is a very small area of slight discolouration on one side from where a tiny sticker was removed. The vinyl itself is superb, without any scrapes, scratches or scuffs. I have listened to both sides of the record from beginning to end and it sounds fantastic with practically no background noise at all. Visually, the record retains its original shine and lustre like a black mirror. The vinyl merits a grading of Near Mint.
Maybe the most important part of the whole package are the pair of paper panties that acted as a "sleeve" for limited numbers of early pressings of the record. Many of these would have been damaged or lost over the years. This particular pair have aged very well without any rips or tears and just some small areas that look a little dusty.
