Here is the 1978  PICTURE DISC release of Steve Millers "Book Of Dreams" LP, Capitol Records catalog # SEAX-11903. These Limited Edition Picture Disc Re-Issue's were produced & pressed by "Pic Disc, Inc." of Nashville, TN. under contract from Capitol Records and were only manufactured in 1978. The original 'Black Vinyl' release of this LP was produced by 'Sailor Productions' and pressed by "North American Music Industries" (NAMI) of Pittsburg, PA. in 1977 for Capitol Records. Since then multiple black vinyl re-issues have been produced through-out the years as interest and demand for this LP continued.
The Background Story of This LP:  This particular Picture Disc LP was purchased directly from Capitol Records while I was employed at their Jacksonville, IL pressing facility. I started a collection of picture discs including The Beatles, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Bob Seger, Steve Miller, Frank Zappa and many more with the intention of keeping them sealed as possible valuable collectibles, until my younger brother found them. Unfortunately, he decided to take several of them to a party so he could be "The Cool Guy" with something unique. I'm not sure if it was his idea or just peer pressure but he eventually gave in and opened the Steve Miller LP & the Pink Floyd - Dark Side LP and apparently played them over and over, not only at one party, but at multiple parties over the next several weeks. At one of the parties a guy had his room decorated with LP's on the walls like pictures, which gave him the idea to decorate our music with the picture LP's. Before I even realized they had been taken, he had them hanging on our walls. If that wasn't bad enough already, his method of hanging them was by simply hammering a nail right through the center hole of the LP, through the cellophane, inner clear sleeve and outer cover / sleeve. When I saw them I was furious but the damage had already been done. Luckily the nail did not go through the LP itself, only the center hole. I immediately took them down and hid them along with the ones he didn't damage. He has been apologizing for years, now that he understands how valuable they could have been. I do admit it they did look kinda cool but it really ruined their value.   Current LP Quality & Grading: This LP has been thoroughly cleaned in a Customized Spin Clean system using a residue free anti-static solution,  then placed in a New, Clear, Synthetic, Anti-Static Protective Sleeve.   I audio tested it using a Technics SL-J33 Programmable Linear Tracking Turntable and both sides have some light surface noise (crackle), mostly audible only in the lead-in, lead-out and dead time. There's also an occasional tick or pop which is inherent in most used LP's. When the music is playing at normal listing volume it still has a clean, crisp sound, not muffled or distorted. Side 2, however, has 2 audible scratches. A small one in track 3 and a bit larger one in track 5 resulting in the audible pops, but there is no skipping or jumping from the grooves.
According to Goldmine Standards, this LP would be graded as "VG".  Still very listenable with only a few distractions from the music.  The Outer Jacket / Sleeve is also "VG" showing some minor damage but still completely intact with to tears, holes or splits.  **Both sides of the LP look very clean and glossy which would still make it a great item to own as a 'Visually Collectible' Picture Disc !  I feel the price I am asking for this Collectible Picture Disc LP reflects the  Grading and Audio Quality making it a very affordable LP to add to your collection.   Please look closely at all the photo's and ask any questions, I will promptly reply.
**All LP Purchases INCLUDE FREE SHIPPING USING USPS MEDIA MAIL.**  LP's will be bubble wrapped and shipped in Approved Corrugated Cardboard LP Containers !
