DESCRIPTION: The owner of this LP took very good care of their records. STAMPED MATRIX: (Sides 1 & 2) XSM 139684-1G & XSM 139685-1J (Sides 3 & 4) XSM 139839-1AB & XSM 139840-1AC
This is an original first pressing of the landmark self titled debut album by (The) Chicago Transit Authority, released by
Columbia Records in 1969. The LP combines elements of pop, jazz and psychedelic into one of the premier rock albums
of the era.
The vinyl LPs are in Very Good Plus (VG+) condition with the occasional scuffs. (No sound effecting scratches.) The
gatefold cover is in Good (G) condition, being structurally sound with primary wear being the record outline ring image
on both the front and back cover.
There is light tip wear on the corners. The spine is strong and the seams are sound with no splits.
The inside of the gatefold has age related rub wear. The inner sleeves are completely intact, with some yellowing.
Sides 1 & 2 vinyl record has #CS-9809, and sides 3 & 4 has #CS-9836, hence the difference in the label style.
SIDE 1 TRACKS: (1) Introduction, (2) Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?, (3) Beginnings
SIDE 4 TRACKS: (1) Prologue, (2) Some Day, (3)Liberation...........[SIDES 2 & 3 TRACKS are in photos.]
General Info: I inherited all of these record albums, so I have no investment in them, and tried to price them way below what the same LP is currently listed for on eBay. My goal is to get rid of them all as quickly as possible. I am not a record dealer or collector. I've done a little research as to grading and terminology and have tried my best to be accurate and complete in my descriptions; but please be aware that this is all quite unfamiliar to me, and if you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason whatsoever, I would be very glad to give you a full and immediate refund. Please feel free to ask any specific questions that you might have, and I'll try my best to answer. To the best of my knowledge, all of these LPs are original issues, although not necessarily the first pressing. Unfortunately, I have no way to play a record to "test" its quality. Thanks for understanding.
