This is a very rare copy of the first pressing of one of John Coltrane's most loved and enduring recordings. This record needs a good, professional cleaning as it has only had one cursory clean for play testing. It was found in the back of an art gallery in Taos, New Mexico and hasn't been touched or played in 35 years. Side 1 plays well but has some noise. There are many marks. Side 1 Track 3 has a couple of noticeable pops due to a groove scratch and Side 1 Track 4 is noisy. Side 2 also has many marks and plays with some noise as well. Side 2 Track 1 has one small skip which might be fixed by a good cleaning. There are some pops on Side 2 Track 2. Was play tested and is still very listenable - VG to VG-. The black Atlantic labels have no writing and very light spindle wear - VG+. The sleeve retains most of its original glossy surface. There is a faint outline of the original owner's name in ink on the front and a slight rip of the slick in the lower left corner. The rear sleeve has the original owner's name in ink on the right side and there are three tracks circled in blue ink on the track list. The seams are all square and tight with no splits - VG+. Has the original Atlantic inner sleeve. Please see the pictures as the photos are considered part of the description.
