TEST PRESSINGS

Test pressings, often known as white label pressings, are copies produced from the masters by the pressing plants in tiny quantities of between ten and thirty copies. These test discs are then sent to the artists and record companies for approval before the main manufacturing is commenced.

These discs are very rare and much sought after by collectors as these are the working copies intended for the artists and label executives to check that the vinyl mastering process is true to the master tapes. The discs were not created for retail sale as part of a manufacturing run. They are genuine test pressings used at work in the industry by the artists and record labels.

THE LEGENDARY BROADCAST

The 1982 album 'Mirage' was a return to the more conventional song writing. Buckingham had been chided by critics, fellow band members and music business managers for the comparatively poor commercial success enjoyed by 'Tusk'.

'Mirage' was recorded at Château d'Hérouville in France, and was an overt attempt to recapture the huge success of 'Rumours'. However, in marked contrast to the mammoth 'Tusk' tour, the band only embarked on a short tour of 18 American cities, but 'Mirage' was nonetheless certified double platinum in the U.S.

This is the live broadcast from Inglewood on 21st October 1982 and provides a powerful snapshot of the band at work on the 'Mirage' tour.
