THE BEATLES STRAWBERRY FIELDS PENNY LANE SINGLE 1st Press Rare Picture Sleeve . Condition is Used. Dispatched 2nd class signed for in cardboard mailer with stiffner.
PARLOPHONE R 5570 'THE GRAMOPHONE CO' RIM and 'SOLD IN UK' text.
A special picture sleeve was prepared for this DOUBLE 'A' SIDED SINGLE RECORD. This single is housed in a thin paper picture sleeve. There were only around 1/4 million of these produced at the time, but because they were made of thin paper most of them are completely wreaked.
This was the first Beatles single since 'Love Me Do' not to reach no.1 in the British charts. It was narrowly beaten by balladeer Engelbert Humperdinck.
The vinyl has 'THE GRAMOPHONE CO' rim in upper case and 'SOLD IN UK' text. The vinyl is in great condition, it plays with fantastic sound, there is a few pops on the run in and some minor background crackling, otherwise the record plays with fantastic audio, graded vgc+.
The rare picture sleeve has a split along the bottom which you'll find with all these sleeves as the paper is thin. There is no writing on the sleeve. However this sleeve is very RARE because most of these are completely wreaked now and there are hardly any left. Graded good+.
