COUNTRY COOKING First Pressing - Rare Cover 1971 Bluegrass Rounder Records #0006
This record is in EX condition.  The cover is also EX.
It is almost impossible to acquire this recording, especially with this cover.  The record is from one of four small pressings, all released in 1971.  It was recorded at Cornell University that same year.
Both the record and the cover rate an EX grading. The cover is in near mint shape save for slight soil and a few spots at the edge of the back frame. The back notes offer an interesting discussion of bluegrass as viewed in 1971.
Bluegrass is a crisp upbeat music that features breaks in which individuals in the group show their virtuosity.  These six talented men (women traditionally did not play bluegrass) learned their musical styles by immersing themselves in the music so that they gradually were able to emulate its techniques and sound. They became masters of the style.
Note that on the back of the record's cover Albert Grossman (misspelled) is cited as the group's manager. He was also the manager of Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin and Peter, Paul and Mary among many other prominent names in popular music of the time.  Grossman was an excellent judge of talent.
Further information about this recording is in the specifications and short comment about the condition that appear at the beginning of this listing.
