IMPORTANT NOTE: I haven't had a turntable since last century, so this sale needs to be considered "as is," but I will describe everything the best I can. This album was rarely played, and I would be shocked if it has been on a turntable more than a few times. I'm not a "record seller," and I don't know "grading," but my descriptions are probably more detailed anyway. If you're not happy after the sale, just contact me. I don't give PARTIAL refunds, but I WILL make sure you're satisfied.

FELA RAMSOME-KUTI and AFRICA '70 with GINGER BAKER
Live (LP, 1971) EMI  1A 036-04933 Gorgeous EMI Import From Holland
Overall, this is in outstanding condition. The album has been stored, so the cover looks like it just came out of the plastic. Shiny, no rings or issues. It's imported from Holland, so the cover is thinner than what Americans are used to getting, but if you know imports, you know what I'm talking about. The vinyl is gorgeous, too, but I DID notice a faint scratch-LIKE mark on one of the sides under a harsh light . You can't feel it, so i doubt it will be an issue. If it IS... all you need to do is contact me. The inner sleeve in the original plastic lined import kind. It hasn't aged that well, but it has done its job and protected the vinyl nicely. The track times we're pulled from the internet, so I can't vouch for those. But they should be accurate (or close).
Side A Let's Start (7:44) Black Man's Cry (11:47)
Side B Ye Ye De Smell (13:16) Egbe Mi O (12:39)

ALL MUSIC GUIDE REVIEW Originally released in 1971, this LP had Fela Kuti solidifying the format that would take him into international visibility in the years to come: extended tracks with grooves that mixed African and funk rhythms, punctuated by rudimentary lyrics. There are just four songs on the album, none shorter than seven minutes, and all but one going over the ten-minute mark. More than a dozen strong, his band, The Africa '70, cooks pretty well on tracks that fuse jazz, soul, and African music in a trancelike fashion that avoids becoming stale, despite the length of the arrangements. Ex-Cream/Blind Faith drummer Ginger Baker's name was given prominence in the billing, probably to attract rock and pop-oriented listeners who might not ordinarily take a chance on music from the African continent. However, it's Fela and Africa '70 who are the dominant presence on a record that sounds much like a mixture of James Brown, fusion, and Nigerian forms.
