The vinyl is in near mint condition. The cover very good. The matrix is YEX 749 2 / YEX 750 2u:…..ref’ The Beatles’ Collection site, the 4th pressing was released between 1971 and 1973. ( Discogs claims the 3rd pressing, 1970, has a matrix 2 / 2u but the 3rd pressing has a dark green Apple label, ours is light green, so a third pressing can be excluded) The cover, ref photo, has a ‘Made in France’ sticker on the back. This is confusing because there IS an Abbey Road French pressing from 1973 but our record is most definitely NOT this (Pathé/Marconi) pressing. The sticker and cover appear to be contemporaneous. I can only assume the mix up happened when the vinyls and covers were put together. The 1973 French pressing cover ( without sticker) and the 1971 - 1973 4th U.K. pressing cover are the same ( Apple logo in alignment with the text: Her Majesty track not listed after The End on the cover: part of drain cover on the zebra crossing on the front cover is visible ) Either the mix occurred at their end in 1973 when the vinyls, sleeves and covers were put together and a Made in France sticker was put on the wrong record - as already said the covers are identical - or there is another explanation. Whatever the reason, both vinyl and cover are exactly as they should be for a 4th pressing…. with the exception of the Made in France sticker. PA
