Inherited from a relative, along with other stuff I am currently selling.   This  extremely rare record was made for the Haig Fund / British Legion in 1933.  It was recorded by the Prince Of Wales who later became Edward VIII in 1935.  He of course abdicated the same year and was never crowned.  It is also fascinating to think that he was already seeing Wallis Simpson at the time of this records recording!  This record is complete in every way with the record + hard board stiffener + paper separator + record.  It also has a note about the details of this record I found inside - which I suspect was written by my great grandmother in the late 1940s / early 1950s.  It is incredible to think that this record is 88 years old now yet has all its pieces intact!
Full details of this record below:-

THE PRINCE OF WALES (PATRON OF THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION) - "A PERSONAL MESSAGE TO YOU" (also known as 'The Prince's Message') - 7.5" DURIUM B-99 + Printed Envelope & Inserts.

The Prince Of Wales (later Edward VIII), recorded in London, circa October 1933 - States on the reverse of the record: "This Record is issued by THE APPEALS DEPARTMENT OF THE BRITISH LEGION, 23 Grosvenor Place, London, S.W.1 to whom donations should be sent"

British Legion fund raising record, supplied with the original envelope + inserts + Durium cardboard based flexible record - original issue on English Durium from 1933.

CONDITION:-

Record:-  Looks unmarked apart from 2 or 3 minor impressions from storage.  Plays fine.  Looks rarely played at all.  So I grade VG+ towards Excellent.

Paper Insert:-  Undamaged - just yellowed (pretty much expected after 88 years lol)

Board Stiffener:-  couple of bangs but fine

Outer Envelope:-  100% solid but you can see a couple of repairs if you look closely.  Also some edge wear and yellowing....  against pretty much expected really!

  That's it.  Good luck.
