In 2003, Colin Hay released MAN AT WORK, a collection of acoustic re-workings of his most classic Men at Work and solo songs. MAN AT WORK went on to become an indie hit, selling nearly 100,000 units, and introducing Hay to a younger generation of fans. The release also spawned new favorites, including 'Beautiful World,' which went on to be featured on the NBC Series SCRUBS. Now, over ten years from it's initial release, Compass Records and Colin Hay have teamed up to deliver the vinyl edition of MAN AT WORK. The LP includes the seminal Men at Work tracks from the original CD release, but has been update to include new recordings of 'It's a Mistake,' 'I Can See it in Your Eyes' and 'Down by the Sea.'

While he'll always be best known as the lead singer for early-'80s MTV darlings Men at Work, Colin Hay has been issuing solo releases on a somewhat regular basis ever since his former band's disintegration. But for his 2003 release, Man at Work, Hay decided to take a step back and rework several Men at Work classics. While it's not uncommon for classic rockers to rework their songs (the "unplugged" craze of the '90s, anyone?), the reasoning as to why Hay would issue such a recording now is a bit puzzling. While such acoustic Men at Work tracks as "Overkill" and "Who Can It Be Now?" are quite charming and worth hearing, the pointless re-recordings of "Be Good Johnny" and "It's a Mistake" (which are almost identical to the originals) are pretty darn pointless.  Hay's non-Men at Work songs ("Beautiful World," "Waiting for My Real Life to Begin") are worth hearing, but of course, they're not up to the high Business as Usual standards. That said, Hay's voice is still in fine form all these years later, sounding as good as it did during his commercial heyday. ~ Greg Prato, AllMusic

Vinyl Records are non-returnable/non-refundable.
Please contact us for before returning item (unauthorized returns shall not be processed). Items defective upon receipt must be packaged in their retail packaging as if new and returned with a detailed description of the problem. To qualify for a refund, the product must be UNOPENED and returned within 30 days of checkout.  Goods must be returned in the original box, in perfect condition, unused, no seals broken and with no missing parts.
