The BEATLES UK PARLOPHONE Original 1978 FIRST Issue release of UK version of the LP album BEATLES - RARITIES, with 17 tracks, mostly released on LP for the first time in UK with songs missing from their regular UK albums! Issued well before Beatles Past Masters 2 record set! The Beatles were now only releasing about ONE album per year!! This copy uses unique Issue number PSLP 261. This LP was deleted from the UK Beatles catalog in 1988 like several others. It will most likely NEVER be reissued again!!! It has the Black Parlophone label style seen in photos 3-4. This LP was produced by George Martin. Fantastic, As always!! The 33rpm vinyl is always the best way to collect Beatles albums. The cover makes Great Wall Art all these years later!! This LP is graded Goldmine EX, original included in a Beatles Box Set of 13 albums, sold separately so people had access to the rare tracks like SIE LIEBT DICH. However, a year later Parlophone issued it as an album separate from the Box Set but it did have a different Back Cover (see photo 12). I bought this copy around 1990, It is virtually UNPLAYED!! See photos 1-7 for actual sale item!! Truly Excellent!! I will clean with Disc-Washer prior to mailing!! Eventually ALL Beatles UK albums were remastered for 1987 reissue in US and UK!! And of course remastered again in 1995 and 2012, I think. So, most of the “original ten” US Beatles Capitol Albums, and this UK album also will probably NEVER EVER be reissued again on vinyl!!! GET COPIES WHILE YOU CAN!!! Of course every song is a classic, even today, 55 years later. Multiple songs that are fantastic years later! One unique track, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE is not the track from 1970 LET IT BE album, but an earlier release, with bird sound effects, of the song given to the World Wildlife Foundation, for an album from late 1969 (see cover shot, photo 11). The Beatles aimed at getting this album to market to complete their catalog on LPs in UK!! They all still sound so fresh, with Incredible energy from the Boys as they attack your ears with superb melodies and harmonies! This is still a beautiful record, quite wonderful sounding!! Lots of hits!! I started collecting Beatles albums to save in 1987 when CDs became popular. I thought vinyl would disappear!! BI quickly learned to handle them as little as possible, especially one of these original reissues which I thought would become rarer and greatly treasured!!
