This is the record that laid the foundation of hip-hop. The "hip hop national anthem", as it's been called. A beat-digger's holy grail. This already-rare record is even more rare due to it being a promo/DJ record. (For those who don't know, promo/DJ records were given away to radio stations and disc jockeys to promote the record. They were typically cut on heavier vinyl, so they'd last longer for multiple plays on air.)
I’ve listened to the whole record prior to listing this. There are no skips and the surface noise is minimal. I found this probably 15 years ago and it has been played only a handful of times since then. This piece of funk and hip-hop history will round out any serious collection in a big way.
