Conclusion (Mickelson) 6.BEHOLD HE COMETH (Kirk) calling . . . leading, caring . . . feeding, touching . . . healing, loving . . . lifting, dying . . . rising, and always forgiving, will be back for more. But different. And soon. God promised it . . . and meant it. But the young have trouble with that. His second coming. The end of this life . . . which to most of them isn’t all that bad. They can wait. Even the believers. Though they mean God no offense, they too would honestly prefer a little more time. Here. On earth. To ask and receive. Seek and find. Knock and open. Learn and serve. Share and love. Especially to love. As God planned. Why then an album of second-coming gospel music with mainly the young in mind? Simply to celebrate life in Jesus . . . here and now . . . and at His coming. By ac- cepting enthusiasm for this life as His gift. And by accepting the promise of His return as the ultimate hope. Simultaneously. It is not to promote a morbid escapism, but to declare a clear-eyed confidence. It is not to put words in anybody’s mouth, but to put faith in somebody’s heart. It’s a time to look in. And out. And up. And on. So when Paul Mickelson, a dedicated believer and incredibly gifted musician, and I first talked of it, there was a stirring. There was a spark. There was a sureness of the idea. There was a Presence. There was an unplanned, preliminary celebration in that somewhat sedate Pasadena restaurant. THIS SAME JESUS is full of excitement ... as it must certainly be. Dynamic. Expressive. Creative. Inspired. Inspiring. He could be here half-way through side one. Or much later. Either way . . . while watching and waiting . . . listening often to the Choir and Orchestra of Paul Mickel- soi repeating the promise of His return will be an excellent introduction to what’s ahead . . . according to John. "And I heard a sound from heaven like the roaring of a great waterfall or the rolling of mighty thunder. It was the singing of a choir ac- companied by harps. This tremendous choir . . . 144,000 strong . . . sang a wonderful new song in front of the throne of God. . . . After this I heard the shouting of a vast crowd in heaven, ‘Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Salvation is from our God!’” (Rev. 14:2-3; 19:1.) THIS SAME JESUS. He’s the One . . . for everyone . . . who will believe.
