Overseas Highway Music - JJL-1
Overseas Highway were from the Florida Keys in Florida. Formerly with 60's band, The Tombstones, Lenny Perez and Jim Dean put this band together and played the clubs on the mainland near Miami. One LP was recorded in 1978.
This LP, although a second offering, was taken from the tapes of earlier sessions from around 1970. It has a real underground acid psych vibe to it. Echoing psych guitar, distant vocals and mysterious meanderings much like Country Joe and Fish, Mad River, Ultimate Spinach and other weird bands that explored the outer edges of music.
This was a dedication LP/CD made for Lenny Perez who had passed away. Only 150 of these were pressed. This is #126 of the lot. There was also a CD made but there were different songs on the CD. You could only purchase these directly from Jim Dean himself.
Cover has the Tom Forshier wild psych illustration. Cover has some slight shelf wear. Record plays with some minor ticks here and there. Generic inner sleeve. Includes hard cardboard insert with picture of the band.
