Up for auction we have 6 albums; 4 from Deep Purple, and 2 from Black Sabbath. All albums are used. All albums are original from late 60's to early 70's and do show their age. The covers are worn but for the most part solid, and intact. Very minor splitting. The vinyl looks to have it's fair share of use. There is scuffing, scratching, along with a mark or scratch or two that may be more than superficial. Please examine pics, and descriptions thoroughly. See more specifis below.
'Deep Purple in Rock' cover has wear but is overall intact. Splitting seam at bottom right, see pics. The top has, what looks to be, spots where a mouse was chewing on it, see pics. It is more on the adjacent cover to the vinyl sleeve area of the cover. The vinyl has scratching and scuffing, had some popping and noise during playback, but played front to back without skipping.
'Machine Head' cover has wear, but is intact. The bottom of the folding side has a small bit of damage, see pics. The Seam are pretty solid all around with a small split starting where record goes in. The vinyl has scuffing and scratching and it can be heard during playback, but it played through without skipping, although a couple spots on Highway Star are close to a skip.
'Made in Japan' cover is solid with usual seam and corner wear. The vinyl has scuffing and scratching that can be heard during playback. I did not play these two records in their entirety, I only played where I thought looked to be the most significant scratching and found no skips. Like I said though, there is noticeable noise and popping.
'Purple Passages' cover is intact, the seams show wear and there is very minor splitting at the sleeve opening, but in my opinion nothing of concern. There is a little staining on the white of the inside top, see pics. The vinyl has scratching and scuffing that can be heard during playback, but no deep grooves. I only listened to song or two. I didn't see anything that I think should cause anything more than noise and minor popping.
'Black Sabbath' Self titled cover is solid, worn seams but don't think anything of concern. The vinyl has scuffing and scratching and can be heard during playback, but it played all the way through without skipping. There is a spot on side two, on the last two songs there is a mark, not quite a gouge, but looks to have been hit, maybe? It can be seen, and it can be noticeably heard but it plays all the way past without skipping.
'Master of Reality' cover shows usual wear but is intact. No seam splitting. A small tear on the opposite side of the sleeve opening, but just the outer. There also appears to be an adhesive that spilled on the back cover, see pics. The vinyl has scuffing and scratching just like all the other albums here but it plays all the way through with no skips. There is a noticeable scratch mostly on 'Solitude', it plays through, but you can hear it more so than the rest of the album.
I am not a professional record grader. I have given you a description based on my non-expert, subjective opinion of the condition of these records. I have attempted to be as honest and thorough as possible, but opinions may vary. These are USED. They are around 50 years old. They are not perfect by any stretch, but in my opinion they all look to still have life left and can be enjoyed more. Please examine pics thoroughly. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck, and happy bidding.
