Following his formation of the International Submarine Band, his stint with the Byrds, and then his creation with Chris Hillman of the Flying Burrito Brothers, he made this, his 1st solo record, with the help of the core of Elvis' band, with the production by Blind Faith bassist Ric Grech, and with the help of the then little-known Emmylou Harris.
