At that time, Myron (Pete) Hart, Heamon (Tib) Hart and Arman (Sam) Hart were the original members. I did not know them at this time, although it is my misfortune-because as we all know that is where harmony begins. Then in May, 1983, the untimely death of brother Sam caused the band to make the decision to continue to play or to stop. I am sure this was a great loss to them and their many fans. But as I often heard my grandparents say, "A song can soothe a troubled and aching heart.” They then regrouped and carried on with the traditional bluegrass sound of their Appalachian home. In the mid '80's, the Hart Bros, recorded an album on the Old Homestead label. This is a great sound; the choice of material is super. the same musicians are still together and have recorded another album. Their choice of material is still great. Here is a group of pickers who believe as I do. When recording, they do new songs, orginal songs, or find songs that haven't been worked to death. It is time to give credit where credit is due. Myron (Pete) Hart sings lead and high baritone--also picks the fire out of that little (chili dipper) mandolin. He is the leader of the group. But when you have a smooth-running machine, your job is easy. Heamon (Tib) Hart plays the banjo. With years of experience and knowing his instrument well, he does a great job. Tib does a fine job with the baritone and low tenor parts. Rick Westerman handles the old dog house bass very well. He also sings tenor and high lead. Rick has been with the band since September 1985. Chuck Westerman has been playing the little corn stalk fiddle with the band since December 1982. Chuck's father and grandfather were fine musicians, so small wonder that he works like a champ. Greg Coen also joined the band in September 1985. Greg plays the guitar with that good solid rhythm and, if you don't watch him, he'll throw in some hot lead picking. They have chosen the songs well on this album. They are not afraid to try some original material. Greg Coen wrote two of the songs, Chuck Westerman, Sr. wrote one, and Bill Castle wrote one. I've said about all that I need to say except any time the Hart Bros. Band or any Bluegrass band is working in your area please lend your support. May God bless and keep us all safe until we shall meet again. Credits: MYRON (PETE) HART - Mandolin.
