Singing Evangelist Perry Ellis Haven Of Rest Christian Gospel Vinyl LP Record
Vinyl / Jacket Grade per Goldmine Standard: VG / VG
The Haven Of Rest I Have Found A Hiding Place I Won’t Have To Cross Jordon Alone He Is So Precious To Me In The Sweet By And By Jesus I Come Room At The Cross If We Could See Beyond Today The Stranger of Galilee In Times Like These All That Thrills My Soul Were You There S3 It gives me immense personal pleasure to endorse this album of sacred solos as sung by my very close friend and frequent associate Perry Ellis. Mr. Ellis has worked often with us in Billy Graham crusades and continues to do so as often as his busy schedule permits. In fact, the first Billy Graham crusade I conducted in the United States had him as its chairman. Such were his gifts both in singing and preaching the Gospel that I was only one of many who urged him to enter full time into the ministry of evangelism. Time has demonstrated the rightness of this step, as everywhere his extensive itinerary has taken him, both inside and beyond the United States, large crowds have gathered to hear him. Born into a Baptist parsonage in San Antonio, Perry grew big like his native Texas, standing six feet nine inches. He holds the B.A. degree from Baylor University, where he studied voice and was soloist for the Baylor Religious Hour Choir. He also holds the B.D. degree. Ordained a Southern Baptist, he served pastoral charges in several states over a period of twelve years. His charming wife Robbie is also daughter of a minister, a former television personality, an accom- plished pianist and mother of the three delightful Ellis children, Autumn, Richard and Johnson. Their present home is in Roanoke, Virginia. Perry Ellis has one of the richest and most mellifluent bass voices I know, and what is most important, he sings “in the Spirit.” I can only hope this record will be the blessing in your home that his last has been in ours.
